My Small Boy

My small boy is almost two years old. At the moment you can almost see his brain ticking over as he learns and develops. He watches everything we do and repeats everything we say. Nothing is safe from his explorations.

My previously easy going little fella has developed opinions too. Suddenly it matters what chair he sits on, what he has for a snack, and whether he wears a beanie or a hat. And oh my, what tears! What drama! The sobbing on the floor over battles of will, lost.

Then two minutes later, all has been forgotten, and he is back to his usual sunny disposition.

My little man has developed an independent streak, and believes he should be able to do what ever his big sisters can do - regardless of his actual ability. Gates and locks are for lesser mortals.

My little chatterbox is learning more words every day. He has already learnt the most important words like 'cake' and 'milk' and of course, 'no'! When he wants help, he will come and grab my hand and say "tum on mum-mee", and continue to pull my hand until such time as I go and assist him.

My little monkey is a bundle of energy from morning to night. He revels in movement. Running, jumping, climbing, dancing, and tumbling.

Slugs and snails, and puppy dogs tails - my little boy is made of much more than that - cuddles, mischief, a cheeky sense of humour, boundless energy, endless curiosity and wonder. No wonder he brings us all so much joy!

  1. I wouldn't have recognized him in that last picture - he's really changed. Though he looks a lot like Meggy in the other shots.

  2. Beautiful! My twin boys are almost 2 and a half and I could relate to so many things in this post. It's amazing how they can go from a screaming meltdown one minute to being ecstatic the next. So fascinating...yet so exhausting ! :)
